Description

Established in 1908, The Plaza started as The Bijou on the north side of Lamar Square. The Bijou moved to the SW corner of the Square after a fire destroyed their building. In 1918 they moved again, this time to the NE corner of the Square. In 1928 The Bijou was sold and the name was changed to The Plaza. In 1934 they moved for the last time, to a new, state-of-the-art building on the south side of the Square. See LamarMovies.com for more of the story, as well as photos.
